Stan Wood

Stan Wood Joined WISH-TV, Indianapolis, in 1957 and was named chief weathercaster in 1967. During a paralyzing blizzard in 1978, Wood and other news team members stayed on the air 67 continuous hours to deliver information to Central Indiana viewers - a service for which the station received a prestigious CASPER Award from the Community Service Council of Indianapolis. Before joining WISH-TV Wood was the chief announcer at WTTV, Bloomington, and during the Korean War was program director for the American Field Radio Service.
